About the Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/w/d), you will develop design solutions for low and medium voltage applications for electronic power control within NPI and/or customer projects in a team with engineers from various disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Develop design solutions within the scope of given concepts or general guidelines for electronic power control devices.
- Calculate and dimension conductor cross-sections of cables and busbars for electrical and mechanical stress according to specifications.
- Implement measures resulting from insulation coordination.
- Conceptualize component cooling using forced air and/or liquid cooling.
- Document and present results.
- Support sales in creating quotations.
- Oversee projects and prototypes in manufacturing.
- Manage and coordinate external services (suppliers, laboratories, externally commissioned investigations).
Requirements
- Completed university degree (engineering studies) in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on mechanical design, technical mechanics, or manufacturing technology, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of specialized professional experience in the development or project planning of electrical drives and automation components.
- Independent, structured, analytical, and proactive work approach.
- Confident and competent demeanor with excellent communication skills.
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
