About the Role

BGC St. Alban's Club is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our STARS After School program at Rawlinson Community School. As a Program Mentor, you will foster a safe and supportive environment for children aged 4-12, engaging them in educational, recreational, social, and artistic activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead groups of children in a group setting.
  • Create a safe and enjoyable environment for participants.
  • Develop and facilitate fun, creative, and inclusive activities.
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are in safe working condition.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as attendance and headcounts.
  • Develop and plan programs for children aged 4-12.
  • Ensure programs are safe, age-appropriate, non-competitive, inclusive, innovative, and skill-based.
  • Help ensure the safety and security of members and respond to critical incidents.
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards according to Covid-19 Safety Protocols.
  • Participate in staff training and orientation sessions.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of participants at all times.
  • Manage conflicts and behavior using corrective techniques.
  • Report to and take direction from the Program Manager and Supervisors.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain professional relationships with peers, members, volunteers, and parents.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children aged 4 to 12 years old.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic, complex environment.
  • Strong supervision and program planning skills.
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Covid-19 Vaccination Required.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
  • Police Reference Check to be completed upon hiring.
  • HIGH FIVE- Principles of Healthy Child Development training.
