About the Role
SiteOne Landscape Supply is seeking a Class A Maintenance Tech to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment in a field environment. This role involves traveling to various locations to service engines, powertrains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems on equipment like excavators, loaders, and dozers. The ideal candidate will be experienced in identifying, diagnosing, and repairing equipment defects using a PC or tablet for diagnostic tests and data entry.
Responsibilities
- Driving to the equipment location.
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance.
- Inspect trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
- Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment.
- Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts.
- Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines.
- Consult with other mechanics.
- Determine necessary parts and tools for repairs.
- Clean and service machine attachments like winches, blades, and hammers.
- Complete shop paperwork.
- Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area including the service truck.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 year's experience in yellow steel equipment industry.
- Must be able to run diagnostics with computer software to resolve equipment issues.
- Electrical trouble shooting on equipment a must.
- Capable of lifting up to 65 lbs.
- Must be able to weld and use a torch.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must have an above average respect and understanding as to Safety compliance PPE and practices.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have your own tools and normal equipment to perform your job responsibilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and efficiently and interact with others in a professional manner.
