About the Role

Powerhouse Arts is seeking a Ceramics Fabrication Project Manager to oversee all aspects of project management in the ceramic studio. This role will facilitate client projects, support daily operations, and serve as the primary liaison between the studio and artists, ensuring the execution of ceramics fabrication projects and shop organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures
  • Serve as project lead on select projects, from early concept through final delivery
  • Manage a team of three fabricators and hold regular one-on-one check-ins
  • Organize and participate in planning meetings with the client and the Ceramics Director
  • Oversee documentation, coordination, and communication of project change orders
  • Lead daily check-ins with the fabrication team to review priorities, deadlines, and task distribution
  • Develop and implement workflows that support clarity, efficiency, and creative problem-solving
  • Track project progress and address challenges proactively
  • Implement quality standards to ensure all deliverables meet studio expectations
  • Maintain a project management calendar
  • Manage studio materials and inventory, including ordering equipment and supplies
  • Prepare and send estimates and invoices and collect tax forms for new clients
  • Prepare the studio for client visits and project needs
  • Maintain adherence to studio safety practices and regulations
  • Collaborate with staff, shops, and departments across the studio to support shared projects and workflows

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong ceramic fabrication skills across a range of techniques
  • Basic 3D rendering abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and solve problems independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working both collaboratively and independently
  • Flexible, creative, and resourceful approach to work
  • Proficiency with file management systems
  • Fluency in G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Box, and related platforms
  • Passionate about the arts and Powerhouse’s mission
  • Must submit a portfolio of fabrication work
