About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will lead and expand the Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice in Austin. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, building client partnerships, delivering complex infrastructure projects, mentoring staff, and contributing to the strategic growth of the Central Texas practice.
Responsibilities
- Develop project scopes, fee estimates, budgets, and contracts.
- Lead project planning including phases, schedules, staffing, and risk mitigation.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Conduct project coordination meetings to ensure accountability.
- Monitor project performance and implement solutions to improve delivery.
- Manage scope changes and contract amendments to protect profitability.
- Evaluate project workflows to identify efficiency opportunities.
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships.
- Identify opportunities for additional services to support client goals.
- Serve as primary point of contact for client technical staff.
- Represent the firm at client meetings, council sessions, and public presentations.
- Assist in identifying and pursuing new project opportunities.
- Meet or exceed business development goals.
- Lead proposal development and participate in interview presentations.
- Build and develop high-performing project teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Resolve conflicts and foster positive working relationships.
- Manage project financial performance including billing, forecasting, and profitability.
- Partner with leadership to optimize staff utilization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Project Manager role.
- Progressive experience in planning, design, and construction oversight of municipal water, wastewater, or water resources projects.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple projects, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience mentoring engineering staff.
- Proven ability to manage project financial performance.
- Direct experience with ERP and CRM software applications like Deltek.
- Strong client relationship skills with a history of repeat business.
- Ability to travel for client meetings.
- Active participation in professional organizations is preferred.
