About the Role

Bodycote is the world's largest provider of thermal processing services, employing thousands of skilled staff globally. This role is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus and is classified as safety-sensitive due to the industrial market. The Heat Treater A-C will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Operations Manager to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with operations; control and monitor heat treating and related equipment, follow written procedures stated on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
  • Operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
  • Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
  • Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
  • Operate, monitor, and ensure furnaces are operating per written procedures and customer requirements.
  • Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
  • Performs other tasks, as required, in support of production.
  • Perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Requirements

  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.
  • Must have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week.
  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Experience Level

  • Entry Level: 0 to 24 months of heat treating experience
  • Mid-Level: 2 to 3 years of experience in heat treating
  • Senior-Level: 3 to 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of heat treating

Education Level

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Salary/Compensations

  • $22 – $27 per hour
  • Eligible for overtime pay
  • Eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential
