About the Role

As a Human Resources Specialist at Levitate, you will be the dedicated HR point of contact for the Ontario-based team, providing guidance, consistency, and care to ensure a positive employee experience. This role supports the growth of the Canadian team by ensuring HR practices align with Ontario employment legislation and company values.

Responsibilities

  • Process new hires into the HRIS, ensuring accurate and timely completion of records, documentation, and onboarding tasks.
  • Lead new hire orientation sessions to create a welcoming and informative start.
  • Collaborate with Ontario-based leaders on employee relations matters, ensuring empathy and sound judgment.
  • Keep the VP of Talent and relevant leaders informed of employee issues, proactively flagging important information.
  • Contribute to updates of the employee handbook, ensuring policies comply with Ontario employment standards and best practices.
  • Manage the offboarding process for departing employees, ensuring a respectful and compliant exit.
  • Provide guidance to managers on disciplinary actions, including termination, balancing business needs with fairness and legal compliance.
  • Manage benefits enrollment end-to-end and serve as the primary resource for employee questions.
  • Lead HR-related trainings for managers and employees as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation across HR systems.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience supporting an Ontario-based workforce.
  • Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (e.g., the Employment Standards Act) and its application to HR practices.
  • Experience with an HRIS and comfort managing accurate, detailed records.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential employee matters.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust.
  • Ability to self-motivate and succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work across multiple HR functions.
