About the Role

Join our Energy and Natural Resources business in London and Berlin/Frankfurt. NERA provides unparalleled guidance on market, legal, and regulatory questions, shaping industries and policy worldwide with rigorous analysis and data-powered recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate climate change and energy policies, including emissions, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
  • Assess economic impacts of government policies and regulations on markets, businesses, and assets.
  • Conduct auction design, simulation, and competitor analysis.
  • Develop pricing systems for transport infrastructure.
  • Prepare expert reports on economic and finance issues for litigation and arbitration.
  • Apply technical skills to regulated industries across various jurisdictions.
  • Perform cutting-edge economic analysis on complex real-life issues.
  • Write research reports and prepare client presentations.
  • Influence project strategy, including preparing and presenting submissions.
  • Collaborate with in-house experts and outside academics.
  • Develop and strengthen project and people management skills.
  • Develop and deliver internal training sessions.

Requirements

  • Hold a BA/BSc and a Master's or PhD in Economics with exceptional academic records.
  • Enjoy microeconomics and quantitative research.
  • Be comfortable working in Excel, Stata, R, Python, or other quantitative software platforms.
  • Have strong attention to detail and the ability to think analytically and critically.
  • Possess strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Be able to work effectively both individually and in teams.
