About the Role

The American Housing Corporation is dedicated to solving America's housing crisis through large-scale production. This role is crucial for owning the buildout of our new factory, managing the general contractor, and overseeing the project from inception to completion, ensuring a safe, on-budget, and on-schedule facility ready for full-rate production.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of the new factory buildout, managing the general contractor and coordinating the in-house architecture and engineering team from preconstruction through commissioning.
  • Own construction coordination and installation of all base building and process systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, dust collection, life safety, and process utilities.
  • Coordinate permitting and inspections with the in-house design team and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Execute facility layout in partnership with manufacturing engineering to support material flow, line balance, and future expansion.
  • Own the construction schedule, tracking critical path, managing milestones, and holding the GC and vendors accountable.
  • Own the project budget, tracking costs, reviewing GC's buyout and change orders, and identifying savings.
  • Hold the GC accountable for site safety and code compliance, including OSHA, NFPA, EPA, fire marshal, and local inspections.
  • Establish and track KPIs for schedule adherence, budget variance, and construction quality.
  • Drive commissioning, punch list closeout, and turnover of all building and process systems to operations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in construction management or project management, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy production environment.
  • Direct experience leading a factory or industrial buildout from greenfield or fit-out through commissioning and ramp.
  • Proven track record managing a general contractor and vendors, including contract administration, change-order management, and schedule control.
  • Strong working knowledge of building and process systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, life safety, and process utilities, with sharp constructability judgment.
  • Familiarity with building codes, OSHA standards, NFPA, and local permitting processes.
  • Proficient with construction management software and scheduling tools; CAD or facility-planning tools a plus.
  • Proven track record managing multi-million dollar capital construction budgets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
