About the Role
The post holder will oversee and maintain the care of service users within the Home. In the absence of the Home Manager, they will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the day-to-day care of residents, delegating roles to care staff as appropriate.
- Act as a Shift Team Leader, providing overall supervision and development for care staff.
- Contribute to the training of care staff and other staff, acting as a role model at all times.
- Actively participate in personal and professional development opportunities, attending necessary mandatory training.
- Ensure Gold Care standards and support systems are effectively operated, leading to positive outcomes for service users.
- Monitor, audit, and review the service, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary.
- Demonstrate high professional standards and leadership, maintaining appropriate professional memberships.
- Assist the Home Manager with formal supervision/appraisal of staff members and ongoing informal assessment to ensure high standards.
- Implement and adhere to Gold Care's policies, procedures, legal requirements, and relevant codes of practice.
- Assist with effective recruitment, performance management, and deployment of staff to deliver high-quality care.
- Liaise with and oversee maintenance contractors and others involved in property, plant, and equipment maintenance.
- Promote the service and Gold Care through effective communication with other organizations and stakeholders.
- Promote the home professionally and effectively in the community, maintaining private bed occupancy and supporting corporate marketing.
- Ensure all staff focus on excellent customer care to enhance the lives of service users and Gold Care's reputation.
- Perform any other duties consistent with the business of Gold Care Homes.
