About the Role

McGard is seeking a highly talented and motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to the company's ongoing success in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and executes activities pertaining to development, application, and maintenance of quality management system standards for McGard/LDM processes, materials, and products.
  • Ensures the achievement of continuous improvement within areas of expertise and business to meet company objectives and satisfy customers.
  • Completes and maintains all required safety classes, trainings, and certifications.
  • Understands the relevance and importance of their activities and their contribution to quality objectives.
  • Works regularly scheduled shifts, with the ability to work overtime and weekends.
  • Complies with related IATF/ISO procedures, as applicable.
  • Meets qualitative and quantitative standards for the position and department.
  • Assists other departments with the development of root cause and corrective action activities.
  • Ensures proper root cause analysis is performed.
  • Approves CARs and ensures proper follow-up of root cause solutions and implementation.
  • Designs, installs, and evaluates quality process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques for new and existing products.
  • Actively contributes to the advanced quality planning process.
  • Develops procedures for inspection and testing criteria, including Control Plans and Process Flows.
  • Leads continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Works with suppliers to ensure their quality management systems meet expectations.
  • Assists and mentors suppliers with the development of corrective actions and root cause development.
  • Troubleshoots manufacturing, assembly, outside processes, shipping, production control, and product development.
  • Applies problem-solving techniques including Six Sigma and root cause analysis.
  • Helps other departments with root cause analysis.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to QA Technicians.
  • Trains QA and other departments on quality concepts, problem-solving tools, and quality management systems.
  • Coordinates and assists with customer audits and visits.
  • Works directly with customers on quality-related issues.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • Three (3) years minimum experience in a quality-related position.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Minitab experience.
  • Capable of traveling and working throughout the entire facility, within reasonable accommodation.

Salary/Compensations

  • $75,000 - $120,000 Annually DOE
