About the Role

Premier Infrastructure & Energy, a subcontractor to National Grid, seeks entry-level candidates who enjoy working outdoors, independently, and have the initiative to learn. This role involves locating underground gas and electric lines using electronic equipment and map reading, with paid training and abundant overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Learn technical material
  • Organize and prioritize locate tickets for the workday
  • Travel to assigned work sites to perform locates, identify, and mark underground facilities
  • Understand and reference records, maps, and prints to accurately locate underground facilities
  • Utilize locating equipment and follow procedures for accurate, quality locates
  • Re-check records and verify marks for accuracy to prevent underground facility damage
  • Contact Supervisor when assistance is needed
  • Use laptop computer and company software to indicate time worked and identify underground facilities for billing
  • Take and process pictures of locates
  • Check company vehicle, equipment, and supplies before leaving for the first daily locate
  • Ensure equipment is fully operational

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms up to 2/3rds of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs
  • Ability to talk and hear over 2/3rds of the time
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)

Salary/Compensations

  • Starting rate of $21.00 an hour
  • $0.50 increase after the training period
  • Yearly pay increases
