About the Role

The Domestic Violence & Trauma Services Program offers comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence, with a focus on education and linkage to health and wellness through individual and group counseling. This role involves managing a high-risk caseload, focusing on complex cases of domestic and gender-based violence, and navigating clients through various systems like behavioral health, medical, criminal justice, and family court. The position requires strong advocacy and support for clients interacting with police, prosecutors, housing services, and other providers, ensuring successful connection to available services.

Responsibilities

Conduct initial comprehensive assessments, safety planning, and risk assessments.
Navigate clients to execute service plans, including making referrals, accompanying clients to appointments, providing coaching, delivering education, planning logistics, conducting follow-up, and assisting with transportation.
Contact clients via phone, text, and email to re-engage them if they miss appointments or deviate from service plans.
Provide trauma-informed education about domestic violence and all forms of gender-based violence.
Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners.
Collect and submit data, documenting all case management activities according to guidelines.
Review and update the program client list, deliverable tracker, and internal database weekly.
Participate in assigned internal and external meetings and trainings.
Align all activities with CHASI’s mission, core values, and culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in health, human services, education, social work, or mental health with 1 year of qualifying experience OR Associate’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 3-4 years of qualifying experience.
Qualifying experience includes work with individuals at high risk of contracting HIV/AIDS, history of mental illness or substance use, harm reduction, domestic violence, immigrants, LGBTQ, etc.
At least 3 years of experience working with culturally diverse and vulnerable populations who have experienced trauma.
Demonstrated ability to engage and serve the domestic violence population.
Strong engagement and follow-up experience.
Familiarity with orders of protection and navigation of criminal and family court systems.
Basic knowledge of HIV, HCV, STI, PEP/PrEP, and Harm Reduction methods.
Excellent MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and internet navigation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive environment.
Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with all levels of external and internal partners.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and the ability to follow instructions.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Highly organized and able to multitask.
