About the Role

DS Smith is seeking a proactive and driven Business Development Manager for the UK Central Packaging Division. This key role involves delivering the sales strategy and showcasing sustainable packaging solutions. You will work across UK and European packaging teams, liaising with other Sales Managers, and have autonomy to transform the role in line with the company's growth strategy. While primarily a business development role, there is a small amount of account management with administrative support. You will thrive on networking with existing and potential customers to bring in new business and build strong working relationships within markets such as Drinks, Snacks, and wider FMCG.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Sales strategy, goals and performance.
  • Showcase sustainable and innovative packaging solutions.
  • Create opportunities and build/strengthen relationships with Global Brands.
  • Transform the role in line with the company's growth strategy.
  • Network with existing and potential customers to bring in new business.
  • Build strong working relations within various markets such as Drinks, Snacks and wider FMCG markets.

Requirements

  • Proven success, knowledge, and experience in a Business Development role within FMCG.
  • Experience in other areas will be welcomed if not packaging.
  • A Full driving license.
  • Strong ability to work independently & remotely with travel as needed.
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to deal with conflict and challenge both externally and internally.
  • Driven to meet sales targets.
  • Proven success, knowledge, and experience with pipeline management and sales reporting.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver dynamic & professional presentations.
