About the Role
The Software Developer/DevOps Engineer will own application development and CI/CD capabilities for the Navy Design Facility (NDF), supporting its mission and integration with NIWC Pac and DON systems. This role involves application development and DevSecOps pipelines, translating operational workflows into technical requirements, and delivering mission-critical capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software systems with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Conform with coding standards, system interfaces, and design patterns
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality
- Support DevOps, QA, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery
- Set up automated testing and build pipelines for a Windows Desktop
- Follow predefined functional requirements and technical specifications
- Debug and fix medium impact component software issues
- Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and contribute to development efforts
- Participate in Agile methodologies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
- Run and document sprint planning and retrospectives
- Develop application features according to user requests and specs
- Handle the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Write robust unit and integration tests
- Document requirements and break down tasks
Requirements
- Two plus (2+) years of experience with and basic knowledge of C#
- Two plus (2+) years of experience with .NET Framework
- Two plus (2+) years of experience with PowerShell, WinUI 3 & Windows OS
- Knowledge of database technologies, data structures, algorithms, and system design
- Knowledge of system-level programming and architecture design
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., SDLC, Agile, Scrum)
- Knowledge of testing procedures and debugging techniques
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles for software development, preferred
- Knowledge of EF Core, SQLite, MVVM Architecture
- Knowledge of RHEL 8 / Linux, Preferred
- Knowledge of AWS, Preferred
- Knowledge of Jenkins & Groovy, Preferred
- Knowledge of Artifactory, Preferred
- Knowledge of Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence), Preferred
- U.S. Citizenship is Required
- Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance
- Will be subject to a US security background investigation
- Active security clearance is highly desirable
