About the Role
The Managing Editor will oversee the day-to-day editorial operations for FASHION, a leading lifestyle brand. This role involves managing editorial planning, production workflows, budgets, and publishing schedules across print, digital, social, video, and newsletters. The ideal candidate will lead the editorial team, ensure high editorial standards, and drive audience growth through strategic content packaging and performance analysis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the editorial calendar across print, digital, newsletters, social, video, and special projects
- Manage production schedules, workflows, deadlines, and resources
- Ensure work moves from idea to publication efficiently
- Collaborate with editorial, design, audience, video, and commercial teams
- Manage freelance budgets, contributors, contracts, and assignments
- Identify and implement workflow improvements
- Edit stories across print and digital platforms
- Write original content as needed
- Develop strong ideas with editors, writers, and contributors
- Maintain editorial quality, accuracy, and brand voice
- Review content for digital performance, including headlines, SEO, and social distribution
- Execute audience growth plans in collaboration with leadership
- Use analytics and audience insights to inform coverage decisions
- Manage, coach, and provide feedback to editors, freelancers, and contributors
- Foster a collaborative, ambitious, and organized team culture
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and resource planning
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in editorial management, content operations, or newsroom production
- Strong editing, writing, and storytelling skills
- Experience managing editorial calendars, workflows, budgets, and freelancers
- Strong understanding of digital publishing, newsletters, social media, SEO, and audience growth
- Proficiency with CMS platforms, analytics tools, and publishing systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Practical, calm, and direct leadership style
- Strong communication skills and editorial judgment
- Comfort working across print, digital, social, and video formats
