About the Role

Spark Power is seeking a Journeyperson Certified Powerline Technician to join their London, Ontario team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground power lines and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure local and company Health & Safety requirements are upheld.
  • Conduct self professionally with team members and customers.
  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical systems, including power lines, cables, and street lighting.
  • Connect and insulate conductors and related wiring.
  • Climb ladders or operate hydraulic buckets for work on poles and towers.
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance, verifying compliance with job requirements, codes, and regulations.
  • Coordinate with local electrical inspection governance for work approval.
  • Manage inventory.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License (DZ or AZ).
  • Must be able to provide a certificate of Powerline Technician qualification.
  • Must have prior training in Working at Heights, Pole Top and Bucket Rescue, and Bucket Evacuation.

Skills

  • Ability to operate bucket trucks, radial boom derricks, hydraulic equipment, and other line maintenance/construction tools.
  • Familiarity with and ability to perform live line work practices and techniques, including stick work and rubber glove techniques.

  • Certification as a Powerline Technician Journeyperson, including successful completion of MEARIE or IHSA Powerline Technician Training Program (434A Red Seal Powerline Technician) or equivalent.
