About the Role
The Senior Analyst, Real Estate Asset Management will support the Asset Management Team in managing a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate. This role involves financial analysis, lease administration, and monitoring asset performance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Valuations Manager and Finance team to oversee the full valuation cycle, including coordinating with third-party appraisers, reviewing reports, and updating internal models.
- Administer leasing software across the portfolio, including onboarding new brokers and supporting the leasing program.
- Manage insurance appraisal processes for Canadian and U.S. portfolios, providing analytical support for the property insurance program.
- Perform detailed financial analysis on property investments, including net effective rent, repositioning strategies, and hold/sell decisions.
- Provide lease administration support, including lease abstraction and ongoing management.
- Oversee IPD reporting and maintain accurate property data within Yardi.
- Monitor asset performance through review of financial reports, supporting property managers on operations, tenant relations, capital expenditures, and stakeholder management.
- Support asset management initiatives, including budgeting, business plan execution, market research, acquisitions/dispositions analysis, and mentoring junior team members.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of real estate experience in asset management, appraisal, brokerage or related sectors.
- Experienced with financial modeling and discounted cash flow analysis, contributing to the preparation of major lease recommendation memos to support leasing strategy and asset management decisions.
- Sound understanding of real estate valuation methods.
- Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and experience with Argus.
- Ability to travel within Canada and the US, plus a valid driver’s license is an asset.
