About the Role

Responsible for accurate and timely processing of employee payroll disbursements, maintaining accuracy of third-party payroll databases, and processing all deductions and withholdings according to employee elections and government regulations. This role also involves processing training, commission, and bonus payroll, generating reports, and providing employee and management support.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, maintain, and process payroll information, including compensation, time worked, deductions, and address changes, with strict attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ensure end-to-end processing of multi-state payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and charitable contributions.
  • Issue or reissue physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding recordkeeping, including I-9 Everify and electronic personnel files.
  • Process new hires, transfers, terminations, and personnel changes in ADP accurately and timely.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of unemployment claims, statutory state reporting forms, work opportunity tax credit reporting, and department of labor forms.
  • Research and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies, communicating effectively with employees, managers, or ADP support.
  • Obtain backup for all punch corrections and assist with punch corrections as needed.
  • Handle employee phone calls regarding PTO, insurance, paychecks, and deductions.
  • Answer questions about navigating ADP time management software.
  • Create and manage cases for troubleshooting payroll software issues.
  • Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision in a high-volume, demanding, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Create ad-hoc payroll reports as needed.
  • Cover human resource specialist duties during vacations and as workflow demands.
  • Cover other regional payroll processing during vacations and as workflow demands.
  • Assist other team members as workflow demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing a high-volume, multistate payroll.
  • Proficient, working knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP WorkforceNow with Enterprise Etime.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Understanding of payroll tax at Federal, State and Local levels as well as payroll labor laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be of legal age to work in the state or local city or town.
  • English speaking proficiency is required.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Honesty, integrity, and respect are highly regarded.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
  • Provide own transportation to and from work.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work well and maintain composure in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive work environment.
  • Ability to see and hear effectively.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule.
