About the Role

This individual will report directly to the Vice President, Director of Children’s Subsidiary Rights, and will support the Director and the rest of the Subsidiary Rights department. This position offers the opportunity to work on both foreign and domestic rights, as well as, to collaborate closely with other departments within the children’s publishing group.

Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support to Director and other department members.
  • Negotiating and managing customer requests for electronic files and processing the file billing.
  • Assisting in the production of seasonal rights guides and the preparation required for various conferences and customer presentations.
  • Supporting contract processing and maintaining department databases and files.
  • Organizing manuscripts and materials for both foreign & domestic submissions.
  • Supporting department colleagues.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to multitask and exhibit self-motivation.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Computer proficiency is essential.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Salary/Compensations

  • The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
