About the Role

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance duties, including repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment, compactors, and light trucks to ensure safe and productive operations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on light trucks, compactors, and recycling equipment.
• Repairs or replaces parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Overhauls or replaces blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps.
• Reads and interprets VCRs and/or repair orders, communicates with supervisor and/or equipment operators for clarification of problems, and discusses preventive techniques with equipment users and vehicle drivers.
• Completes paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for applied times.
• Repairs and installs plumbing and electrical related items to hydraulic systems.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Maintains a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.

Requirements

• Valid driver license.
• Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skills.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Climb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feet.
• Occasionally must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Experience Level

• 1 year of related equipment maintenance and repair (with HS diploma or G.E.D.)
• 4 years of related equipment maintenance and repair

Education Level

• High school diploma or G.E.D. certification
