About the Role

You will be a key participant in the design process, translating ideas into built environment solutions and seeing those ideas to completion. You will help nurture and develop junior designers and be a voice in your teams and your office for design excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize design solutions and develop them throughout all phases of a project in collaboration with design leaders and team members.
  • Create innovative design concepts that synthesize client culture, goals, and aspirations.
  • Act as a partner to design leaders, translating design goals into refined spatial and material solutions.
  • Focus on schematic design and design development, guiding detailing and construction documentation with project architects.
  • Provide guidance on design intent during the construction administration phase.
  • Serve as the day-to-day voice for design intent in project execution matters.
  • Direct the preparation of client presentation materials, including 2D and 3D design visualizations.
  • Prepare graphic presentation material and focus on team development.
  • Lead design presentations in support of the project and team.
  • Collaborate with interior designers and typology subject matter experts on holistic design solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative spirit from the earliest design phases.
  • Collaborate with technical leaders and engineers to consider building systems.
  • Coordinate design intent with other disciplines.
  • Integrate performance-based and sustainable design strategies into design solutions.
  • Support the building performance group in their energy modeling efforts.
  • Apply design approaches in the design of large-scale projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Mentor and grow emerging professionals.
  • Nurture an environment that exemplifies collaboration, experimentation, innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture required.
  • A design portfolio of past and current built and unbuilt design work with clear demonstration of personal contribution to project conceptualization and detailed development is required.
  • Portfolio must contain a minimum of 2 fully constructed building designs representing a high level of design excellence.
  • Minimum 10 years of related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge of exterior and interior materials and building assemblies.
  • Command of Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience with one or more real-time rendering and 3D rendering software such as Enscape, Twinmotion, and/or V-Ray required, as demonstrated through a portfolio of past and current visualization work.
  • Experience with digital media creation and editing in the Adobe Creative Cloud applications required.
