About the Role
The Shuttle Driver position is responsible for serving as a shuttle operator and an information source, providing miscellaneous services to customers and tenants.
Responsibilities
- Operates a golf cart, shuttle bus and/or trolley safely and efficiently.
- Completes driver trip sheet for each shift.
- Provides information on pick-up and destination points, including stores, restaurants, lodging, and business offices.
- Relays product knowledge to respond to guest questions about promotions and amenities.
- Represents Simon by providing high quality, efficient service.
- Provides passengers with information regarding shopping, dining, lodging, entertainment, and attractions.
- Responds to requests for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.
- Assists passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle.
- Loads and unloads luggage, packages, and other items.
- Transmits and receives information over a two-way radio system and/or cellular phone.
- Reports accidents or other safety situations to Management.
- Treats all passengers, guests, and other persons in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Maintains a professional physical appearance of the shuttle, including marketing materials, signage, and displays, ensuring information is current and relevant.
- Inspects the exterior and interior of the vehicle at the beginning of each shift for proper operation of all components.
- Ensures the inside and outside of the vehicle are properly cleaned and fueled on an ongoing basis.
- Monitors vehicle condition and reports malfunctioning items or damage to Management.
- Connects with property management staff regarding corporate policies and procedures.
- Understands disaster plan role and implementation.
- Performs job duties following established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Discusses problems or unusual occurrences with the Operator’s supervisor.
- Provides support and assistance to co-workers and other departments as requested.
- Participates in team meetings and efforts to implement center projects and achieve center goals.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years-old with a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess any state-required documentation for driving passengers.
- Ability to sustain a work load consisting of exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to ten pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must be able to communicate by telephone, two-way radio, and in person in clear fluent English in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Must be able to read, understand, and complete all forms and read and understand inter-office communications, schedules, or other documents.
- Available to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
