About the Role

The Project Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of moderate complexity projects with significant visibility and risk. This role collaborates with key BGIS departments to ensure full support of all activities and plays a key role in the integrated approach to operating buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all internal and external requirements including environmental, health and safety, fire protection, and mandated by BGIS Health Safety and Environment Teams.
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, budget, and requirements.
  • Follow the BGIS Standardized Methodology, including key Stage Gates for reviews and approvals.
  • Define project scope, deliverables, and requirements in collaboration with clients, operations, technical services, consultants, and contractors.
  • Secure agreement and approval for all scope adjustments.
  • Determine resource and budget requirements, cost estimates, schedules, and timelines.
  • Identify project risks and develop and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Monitor project delivery against timelines and ensure timely completion.
  • Collaborate with key BGIS Account Team Members (Health and Safety, Environment, Capital/Asset Planning, Operations, Energy Management, etc.) to review project scope and align with key requirements.
  • Manage all elements of project forecasting and cashflows.
  • Review future forecasts to ensure sufficient commitments are included to meet project spend targets.
  • Enter data in a timely manner for accurate weekly reporting to BGIS and clients.
  • Manage contingency spend and follow appropriate client approvals for matching budgets to Project Charters.
  • Manage all Charter updates to reflect budget, scope, or schedule adjustments.
  • Oversee all Change Orders for accuracy, fiscal management, and appropriate approvals.
  • Monitor and meet all client-directed spend targets to meet capital requirements.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely billing of project activities.
  • Manage PO details to ensure all appropriate approvals for project-related billing.
  • Ensure appropriate due diligence review and timely approval of supplier applications for payments/invoices.
  • Provide ongoing regular updates on project activities.
  • Proactively escalate key risks to BGIS leaders and contributors for management and mitigation planning.
  • Monitor and provide ongoing status on PO approvals to prevent system delays.
  • Communicate any KPI risks to key Account Governance Leaders.
  • Ensure an effective communication plan for all project contributions is in place.
  • Follow all Project Methodology Communication Protocols, including Kick off Meetings using standardized forms.
  • Ensure full adoption of BGIS PM Technology, Dashboards, and Reports.
  • Ensure all project documents and approvals are complete within the system and reviewed for accuracy.
  • Review and use key dashboards regularly to monitor project performance and adhere to MSA Key Performance Indicators.
  • Collaborate with Project Admin to prepare status reports for client and BGIS updates.
  • Ensure the use of procurement tools and technology and adherence to BGIS and client procurement policies.
  • Ensure supplier contracts and supporting documents are accurate, complete, and maintained in BGIS systems.
  • Participate in vendor management activities and assessments.
  • Ensure appropriate site visitation schedule and attend key sites for major/critical projects.
  • Hold key construction/contractor meetings on site when possible.
  • Inspect site conditions and ensure adherence to H&S protocols.
  • Manage all deficiency walkthroughs and identification, followed by deficiency correction.
  • Follow all Technical and Financial Close out Protocols and Checklists.
  • Collaborate with Operations to take on all project-related activities for emergency projects.
  • Lead transfer of knowledge meetings (FM to PM).
  • Ensure effective ongoing communication with Operational Contributors to provide regular project status updates to clients.
  • Collect and handover project closeout documents (CMMS, Environmental reports, Warranty packages, manuals, as builts, permits).
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients.
  • Resolve issues, manage client expectations, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Community college diploma in architectural technology, construction technology, or engineering technology.
  • 3 to 5 years of project management work experience.
  • Proven ability and experience in delivering projects on-time, on-budget, within specifications, and in compliance with all requirements.
  • Proven ability and experience in developing and managing project budgets.
  • Proven ability and experience in mitigating and managing project risks.
  • Strong communication, influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability and experience in building and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Proven ability and experience in managing client relationships and expectations.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Proven ability and experience in project team leadership.
  • Proven ability and experience in managing vendor performance.

  • $77,259 - $96,573 per annum
