About the Role
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides clinical leadership and strategic direction for Oak Orchard Health's medical services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and promoting clinical excellence, provider engagement, regulatory compliance, and organizational success.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for clinical quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and evidence-based care.
- Oversee quality assurance, performance improvement, peer review, chart audits, and clinical outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with PCMH standards, FQHC requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Supervise, mentor, evaluate, and support physicians and advanced practice providers.
- Monitor provider productivity and support organizational performance goals.
- Collaborate with Nursing, Operations, and leadership teams to improve care delivery and clinical workflows.
- Support EMR optimization, provider training, and documentation standards.
- Partner with Human Resources in provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts.
- Review CME requests and oversee provider scheduling, including on call coverage.
- Serve as the organization's Chief Quality Officer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree required.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or related primary care specialty required.
- Current New York State medical license or ability to obtain licensure.
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare operations, quality improvement, reimbursement, and strategic planning.
- Understanding of FQHC regulations, New York State healthcare requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.
- Requires continuous use of a computer, telephone, keyboard, copier, fax machine, and other standard office equipment throughout the workday.
