About the Role

Provide the Underwriter with account knowledge as it relates to hazards, controls, and management. Evaluate how a company identifies and manages its inherent risk factors and differentiate the account from others in similar classes of business. This role involves working with larger, more complex, and all-lines accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent field presence, spending approximately 20% - 50% of the time onsite with customers.
  • Travel to customers, potentially involving long-distance, overnight, or multi-night trips.
  • Partner and have joint ownership with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to service customers as a unified team.
  • Complete all-lines risk assessment evaluations for diverse businesses with moderate to high complexity.
  • Write technically detailed reports that communicate a clear assessment of risk and articulate recommendations.
  • Discover and evaluate customer needs through loss analysis and customer readiness to provide Risk Control products and services.
  • Identify uncontrolled exposures to influence the customer to make improvements and take corrective actions.
  • Provide solutions to assist the customer in risk mitigation.
  • Stay current with technical subject matters, regulatory environment, and emerging issues.
  • Create a valued customer experience through each assessment and service encounter.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements, where applicable.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with all others.
  • Ability to give and receive coaching and feedback.

Education Level

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences and related technical fields.
  • Recognized relevant certifications (such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS).

Salary/Compensations

  • $94,400.00 - $155,800.00
