About the Role
A field-based sales role focused on educating the eye care community on Geographic Atrophy (GA) and compliantly promoting Izervay for appropriate patients. The role requires a deep understanding of the business drivers within a specific geography to educate, support, and influence a wide range of eye care professionals. The ideal candidate is a driven, accountable sales professional who owns results and balances strategic agility with tactical execution, always prioritizing patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Effectively drive sales performance for Izervay in their territory to ensure quotas are met or exceeded.
- Contribute to delivering a high launch sales trajectory for Izervay and consistently meet sales growth expectations.
- Develop, collaborate on, and implement territory plans to identify and prioritize activities for short- and long-term sales goals.
- Communicate regularly with the Regional Business Director to deliver business results.
- Work with cross-functional field teams to foster and grow relationships with key GA treatment decision makers.
- Lead and execute educational events with Astellas partners.
- Learn and demonstrate strong clinical understanding of ophthalmology and retina.
- Foster a high-performing team environment by sharing knowledge, experience, and insights.
- Meet all administrative business expectations and standards, including budgets, reporting, and communication.
- Adhere to compliance and operating principles and expectations of Astellas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of specialty pharma/biotech commercial experience
- Ophthalmology experience, retina preferred
- Buy and Bill experience preferred
- Demonstrates strong sales performance track record
- Demonstrates an understanding of business drivers and regulations within healthcare
- Effectively use active listening, probing and other selling skills to enhance communication and influence key customers
- Embodies skills in building and maintaining professional relationships with key customers and office staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills required
- Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Astellas’ policy requirements
