About the Role

IF is entering a new phase of growth and seeks a Marketing Manager or Lead to enhance market presence and client engagement. The role involves understanding IF's complex work at the intersection of design, technology, and trust. A Marketing Mentor may be available for development. The position reports to the Managing Partner and collaborates with the leadership and Growth Lead to execute strategy through content, events, and campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain IF’s brand voice and messaging for clear, consistent external communication.
  • Translate business priorities into external communications across various channels.
  • Ensure alignment with IF’s messaging house and campaign frameworks.
  • Brief and manage external designers for core marketing assets.
  • Manage the flow of content to maintain IF’s market visibility and credibility.
  • Own and manage IF’s content calendar, including LinkedIn, newsletter, and blog.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and shape content such as posts, articles, and frameworks.
  • Support senior leadership with ideas for LinkedIn posts and community engagement.
  • Manage the monthly newsletter from coordination to distribution.
  • Own IF’s external events strategy, identifying opportunities and ensuring preparation.
  • Manage speaker logistics and relationships with event partners.
  • Support leadership in developing and preparing talks.
  • Run internal events, both private and public-facing.
  • Align marketing activity with commercial priorities in collaboration with the Growth Lead and Senior Team.
  • Identify warm or engaged leads and pass them to the Growth Lead.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, event organizers, and clients for case study development.
  • Contribute market and audience insights to shape marketing investment.
  • Ensure IF’s values and culture are reflected in recruitment and internal communications.
  • Produce hiring posts and recruitment communications.
  • Manage awards submissions and industry recognition opportunities.
  • Support internal communications about IF’s work and direction.
  • Help plan and deliver community and partnership events.

Requirements

  • Experience in a marketing role within a design consultancy, agency, or professional services environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Understanding of content calendars, events programs, and brand presence.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, capable of crafting clear, punchy copy consistent with a defined voice.
  • Comfortable writing across various formats: social, newsletters, event materials, and briefs.
  • Genuine interest and willingness to understand IF’s work in AI, data, design, and policy.
  • Understanding of the connection between marketing and business development.
  • Experience working in environments where marketing supports commercial goals.
  • Ability to stay aligned with sales or growth functions.
  • Confident collaborator, able to work closely with senior leaders.
  • Ability to take a brief, push back constructively, and deliver high-quality work.
  • Willingness to experiment with tools and stay current with emerging technologies like AI.
  • Low ego, thoughtful, and motivated by IF’s work.
  • Desire to be part of something meaningful.
