About the Role

Joseph Gallagher is a leading UK-based Civil Engineering & Tunnelling sub-contractor with an award-winning reputation and an industry-leading safety culture. We are seeking a Tunnelling Pit Boss to manage gangers and lead miners, ensuring safety and efficient operations on critical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage gangers and lead miners.
• Ensure day-to-day lifting operations are controlled as defined by the Appointed Person (lifting).
• Be responsible for the control of workplace transport in their areas of work.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is provided and used as required by site rules and procedures.
• Maintain written records and site diaries.
• Organize and manage the timely supply of materials.
• Provide expert advice, support, and guidance relating to all works during day-to-day activities.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisor role managing Health and Safety on site.
• CSCS Site Supervisors Qualification.
• SMSTS or SSSTS Qualification.
• Tunnelling experience.
