About the Role

Provide legal advice to support Comcast Cable’s global privacy and information security program, focusing on thought leadership, business strategy, and risk management within the Legal Privacy and Information Security group.

Responsibilities

  • Independently handle privacy and information security matters, providing timely, accurate, and pragmatic advice for compliance.
  • Lead evaluation of programs and initiatives considering privacy and information security requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to embed privacy and information security principles into business plans.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining policies, processes, and documentation related to data processing.
  • Review company practices for consistency with internal privacy and information security governance.
  • Lead Privacy Impact and Risk Assessments for new initiatives involving personal data processing.
  • Monitor and implement requirements from developments in privacy and information security laws and regulations globally.
  • Provide practical legal counsel on data governance, data retention, data minimization, and incident response.
  • Lead and advise on post-acquisition privacy and information security integration.
  • Conduct awareness and training on privacy policies, data handling, and legal obligations.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer's work.
  • Perform duties consistent with strategic plans and leadership directives.
  • Drive results and growth.
  • Be an enthusiastic learner, user, and advocate of company technology, products, and services.
  • Support a culture of inclusion in work and leadership.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years combined legal experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in privacy and information security.
  • Experience with European and UK privacy and information security legislation, including GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, NIS2, and Cyber Resilience Act.
  • Experience with additional global privacy and information security laws and operating within a global privacy framework is preferred.
  • Demonstrated transactional experience, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating privacy and data protection contract terms and agreements.
  • Experience conducting privacy impact assessments and advising on applicable privacy and information security legal requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal, regulatory, and technical requirements and translate them into practical business guidance.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  • A pragmatic, risk-based approach and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Experience with privacy management platforms and familiarity with productivity tools such as Copilot and Harvey would be advantageous.
