About the Role
The Brand Manager will collaborate with a world-class team and network of industry partners to develop and implement a strategy to grow lifestyle and entertainment revenues, as well as generate awareness, relevancy, and growth for Authentic in Japan. This role is for a creative, strategic, seasoned Business Manager with licensing business development and marketing experience.
Responsibilities
- Manages the development and implementation of business processes that align with business strategies, planning, and vision.
- Develops and implements new tracking and reporting systems to streamline processes.
- Assists in tracking new licensing agreements and financials related to Japan licenses.
- Serves as the lead for special projects as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains internal policies and procedures for administrative activities.
- Implements work plans and initiatives.
- Supports the creation and management of budget projections, analyzing revenue, and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to identify business operational opportunities and develop and implement solutions.
- Works closely with Finance, Legal, Marketing, PR, and other teams on cross-functional initiatives to drive Japan strategy and operations.
- Gathers and analyzes information from cross-functional teams to identify Japan-specific opportunities.
- Participates in business strategy discussions with cross-functional leadership in setting Japan-specific plans.
- Researches and analyzes business data for accuracy, trends, and variances to maximize business potential.
- Engages, inspires, and galvanizes the organization through operational and strategic projects that help drive business for the Japan-based team.
- Assists in overseeing the direction, implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of licensing processes.
- Localizes materials, translating corporate communications, brand PR, and other materials either from Japanese to English, or from English to Japanese.
- Collects new sources for, and creates and releases the Authentic Brands Group Japan Newsletter to partners and subscribers.
- Plans and manages internal (Authentic internal visitor) itineraries and external B2B events such as Key Partner Meetings and conventions.
Requirements
- A proactive storyteller with a global mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with brand and business teams to develop and execute against measurable goals.
- Strong lifestyle and entertainment / media relationships across the industries Authentic works with.
- Thorough knowledge of the Japan business and licensing landscape.
- Experience managing external partners, including licensees and agencies.
- Must be flexible to the needs of a global business and be available outside of regular working hours.
