About the Role
The AI Engineer designs, builds, and pilots AI-enabled solutions to support business teams through rapid prototyping and innovation. Operating within the Business & AI team, this role translates complex business problems into secure, scalable, cloud-hosted solutions within a regulated reinsurance environment, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and pilot AI-enabled solutions to address business problems.
- Translate business use cases into secure, scalable, cloud-hosted AI solutions.
- Deliver hands-on full-stack and AI development for transition into production platforms.
- Design prototypes with consideration for scalability, operability, data governance, and integration.
- Research and evaluate emerging AI approaches, tools, and techniques.
- Ensure adherence to technology engineering standards, architecture principles, and security controls.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Information Security to meet regulatory expectations.
- Ensure solutions respect data principles including ownership, lineage, residency, and PII handling.
- Collaborate with the Global Experience Analysis engineering team to share insights and accelerate AI adoption.
- Contribute to solution architecture designs and identify technical debt risks.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience designing, building, and piloting AI-enabled solutions.
- Strong hands-on development experience with Python and APIs.
- Experience translating business problems into secure, scalable technical solutions.
- Experience applying AI technologies within regulated or risk-aware environments.
- Strong engineering judgement balancing innovation with operational readiness.
