About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own complex problems from discovery through production. This role requires a versatile engineer capable of working across services, APIs, event flows, and product experiences to deliver reliable solutions for our data-driven commerce ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reliable services, APIs, and product-facing workflows.
• Work across backend systems, UI surfaces, event processing, and third-party integrations.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into concrete technical plans.
• Manage production behavior including monitoring, alerting, logging, debugging, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with product, design, infrastructure, support, and engineering teams.
• Improve system quality through testing, code reviews, observability, and design simplification.
• Validate technical decisions using production data and evidence.
• Take ownership of incidents and production issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering experience with production services.
• Experience owning ambiguous technical work.
• Ability to solve problems across multiple layers of a system.
• Strong production debugging skills.
• Experience with Java, Scala, Kotlin, Go, or similar backend languages.
• Experience building APIs, services, and integrations.
• Experience with SQL and data-backed product behavior.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
• Experience with event systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub.
• Experience with logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and tracing.
• Experience writing automated tests and reviewing code.
