About the Role
Talon.One is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our cross-functional development teams. You will design solutions for complex problems, mentor team members, and drive technical excellence within our autonomous squads.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver features independently or by coordinating efforts across the squad
- Drive technical discovery and solution design in collaboration with PMs and Tech Leads
- Share technical knowledge across the Backend Guild through discussions and documentation
- Participate in cross-squad brainstorming and problem-solving sessions
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, code reviews, and feedback
- Champion improvements to quality, maintainability, and engineering processes
- Contribute to Scrum rituals and engineering best practices
- Monitor maintenance of quality standards and recommend process improvements
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a Backend Developer building enterprise-grade web applications
- Basic working familiarity with Go
- Willingness to build a career in Go if coming from another stack
- Strong architectural instincts and ability to articulate tradeoffs
- Proven track record of designing architecture for complex applications or features
- Hands-on experience owning maintenance, performance, and security for production systems
- Ability to mentor others proactively
- Willingness to contribute to the full stack
- Team-first attitude and empathy for colleagues and customers
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Berlin
