About the Role

Join the Fitch Solutions Commercial Team and leverage your client relationship skills for professional development and visibility in the financial market intelligence space. This role offers opportunities for growth within a dynamic, fast-paced environment supported by a leading financial services group.

Responsibilities

  • Actively seek new sales opportunities and prospect for cross-selling into existing clients.
  • Establish and implement strategic plans to grow the Ratings and Research business for Japan.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to achieve business targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suites and decision makers to acquire new clients and cross-sell.
  • Arrange and conduct strategic meetings with clients and potential customers to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Utilize product knowledge, market insights, and competitive landscape understanding to close deals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Account Managers, CSM, Product Specialists, Analysts, Marketing) to develop strategies for approaching new customers and displacing competitors.

Requirements

  • Degree educated (or equivalent) in Finance, Business, Commerce, or Economics.
  • Approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in business development, with a focus on new client acquisition.
  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income and Data.
  • Experience in building relationships with C-suites and decision makers.
  • Proven client-facing experience including cold calling, product demonstrations, and training.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely via email.
  • Confident and professional telephone manner to quickly build rapport with prospective clients.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and strong initiative/results-driven approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail, pro-active, and hardworking.
  • Proficient user of Outlook and Microsoft applications, including Excel.
  • Native Japanese speaking level is required.
  • Intermediate English level is essential.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is considered a bonus.
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role within the financial industry.
  • Extensive network within the industry.
  • Proven track record of innovation and adaptability, implementing new strategies that led to significant sales growth.
