About the Role

Head of Japan Finance position overseeing all finance, accounting, and tax operations for AnyMind Japan. This role requires a deep understanding of the company's diverse business structure, commitment to management and operational improvements, and close collaboration with the CFO and Group Finance to maintain and strengthen accounting, finance, and tax functions while driving business transformation using AI and technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing for the Japanese entity (J-GAAP).
• Oversee journal entries, account management, AP/AR, fixed assets, and expense reimbursements.
• Ensure quality and timely submission of monthly reporting packages to Group Finance.
• Drive continuous operational improvements for faster and more accurate closing.
• Manage corporate tax, consumption tax, and withholding tax filings and payments in Japan.
• Handle tax audits and transfer pricing policy for Japan.
• Coordinate and manage relationships with tax advisors.
• Manage external auditors for the Japanese entity's standalone financial statements.
• Establish, operate, and evaluate internal controls for the Japanese entity under J-SOX.
• Maintain, improve, and embed the internal control framework.
• Manage and optimize NetSuite and related systems for the Japanese entity.
• Improve efficiency of accounting operations using AI and automation tools.
• Design and execute processes to shorten monthly closing and reduce human errors.
• Continuously improve Japanese business flows while maintaining consistency with global standards.
• Manage the annual budget and forecast for the Japanese entity.
• Provide finance reporting to JP management (P&L, BS summary, Cash Flow, etc.).
• Support cost analysis, revenue analysis, and ad-hoc analysis.
• Manage, develop, and recruit the JP Finance team (approximately 20 members).
• Standardize operations and reduce key-person dependency.
• Manage team members' skill development, evaluations, and motivation.

Requirements

• Leadership experience in accounting at a listed or pre-IPO company.
• Practical management experience in consolidated financial statements, including multiple subsidiaries.
• Lead or equivalent experience in managing external audits.
• Ability to communicate accounting, audit, and disclosure matters in Japanese.
• Experience operating accounting functions using an ERP system.
• Strong interest or practical experience in accelerating closing, operational improvements, automation, ERP enhancements, or BPR.
• Comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in accounting, finance, and tax.
• Proven track record in team management and member development.
• Ability to provide clear finance reporting to CFO and management.
• Proactive attitude towards automating and applying AI to existing operations.
• Willingness to enhance team productivity using tools and technology.
