About the Role
Mace is seeking a Senior Cost Consultant with an MEP background to provide full-cycle cost management services within their Education sector team. The role involves advising on procurement, managing cost planning, and negotiating final accounts, contributing to the company's mission of unlocking potential and redefining ambition.
Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, advise on procurement strategies and contract selection, and write/undertake procurement reports.
- Apply value management techniques at the project outset.
- Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including presenting the final cost plan.
- Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Serve as a key interface with clients, stakeholders, and other consultants.
- Handle contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, and services.
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve internal systems and processes.
Requirements
- Advise on contract administration, JCT/NEC forms, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
- Perform Capex V Opex Cost analysis/advice.
- Provide commercial insight on MEP, sustainability, carbon reduction, and public-sector priorities.
- Apply industry best practice, multi-sector experience, and professional standards to client outcomes.
