About the Role
The Partnerships Manager, Retirement Distribution role is within a period of strong growth and market momentum. You will work alongside a collaborative team, have autonomy to lead partner relationships, and shape how Challenger grows in the market. This is a relationship-led role with a strong commercial focus, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of strategic partnerships and identifying new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support account plans and relationship management across key retail platforms and institutional partners, including superannuation funds and insurers.
- Identify opportunities to grow and strengthen these relationships.
- Coordinate sponsorship opportunities with partners and licensees, ensuring activities align with strategic priorities.
- Support Challenger's visibility within licensee adviser networks through engagement, workshops, and education on lifetime income frameworks.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, engaging in conversations to understand client priorities and support tailored solutions.
- Position Challenger as a trusted partner.
- Keep across market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
- Work closely with product, marketing, and distribution teams to support integrated, coordinated client outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong relationship management experience and the confidence to engage at an institutional level.
- Ability to build, nurture and grow high-value partnerships that deliver sustainable outcomes for Challenger.
- Sound commercial judgement and the credibility to navigate complex, relationship-driven environments.
- A strong track record in business development, or stakeholder engagement - ideally within relationship-driven environments.
- Solid negotiation skills, with a track record of contributing to business-to-business partnership growth.
- A consultative approach - understanding needs and helping shape suitable solutions.
- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to present with impact at all levels.
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to read the market and translate insights into action.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without losing attention to detail.
