About the Role
BDO is seeking a Cloud Data Services Administrator to support the reliable day-to-day operation of our database and data platform services. This role is part of our Shared Services Technology function and plays a critical role in keeping BDO’s data platforms secure, available and well-governed. Working from approved runbooks, templates and patterns, you’ll perform operational run-state activities across SQL Server and Azure SQL platforms, as well as provide run-level support for Azure Data Factory (ADF), Logic Apps and related data pipelines. You’ll triage incidents, deliver first-fix remediation, and escalate complex issues to specialist teams when required.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational tasks across SQL Server and Azure SQL, including backups, restorations, patching, monitoring and access provisioning
- Provide run-level support for ADF and Logic Apps, including restart/resubmit activities and dependency validation
- Execute performance, capacity and configuration health checks using defined runbooks
- Support vulnerability remediation, certificate and secret lifecycle management
- Triage incidents, apply first-fix remediation and escalate issues beyond guardrails
- Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, KB articles and operational evidence
- Collaborate with Integrations, Cloud Engineering, Security and Network Operations teams
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience administering SQL Server and Azure SQL in enterprise environments
- Experience supporting ADF and Logic Apps at a run-level
- Familiarity with monitoring, ITIL-based incident/change processes and operational runbooks
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills and a disciplined operational mindset
