About the Role

The Tokyo Investment Operations team is seeking an Associate Officer or Assistant Vice President to join their ranks. This role involves production support, including daily NAV calculation and verification, managing fund events, handling audits, preparing shareholder reports, and regulatory filings. The position offers significant professional development, including learning about portfolio analytics, client reporting, and advanced performance attribution, with hands-on experience across various securities and products. It also provides opportunities to enhance time management, communication, and problem-solving skills through interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Daily NAV calculation and verification for ITM Funds
  • Distributors management
  • Handle various events related with Funds’ Fiscal Year End, New Fund Launching, Funds’ termination
  • Fund Auditing
  • Shareholders report and financial statement
  • Regulatory filing to Financial Supervisory Agency, Bank of Japan and Investment Trust Association
  • Analysis and Implementation of new workflow
  • Oversight of outsourcing agent
  • Support for Offshire Fund operations and client communication

Requirements

  • Basic accounting and operational experience in financial industry (nice to have)
  • Putting premium on teamwork and respecting co-worker
  • Go extra miles
  • Having a desire to find a carrier path in back or middle office (Operations and accounting)
  • A strong client focus to ensure the expectations of stakeholders and our clients are met
  • Basic technical skills ((MS EXCEL, WORD, ACCESS…etc)
  • Sound analytical and conceptual problem solving skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills with fluency in Japanese and basic or business level English language ability
  • 3 years undergraduate degree preferably in business related discipline
  • 3 years of work experience in a function that has some related financial analysis or use of analytical skills
  • Knowledge of multiple asset classes and how they can be used in portfolios
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • The candidate should be able to communicate effectively, work well in a team setting, and be able to effectively handle changes with a positive outlook
