About the Role
The Marriott Long Island is seeking a strong hospitality Accounting Manager to support the financial operations of a high-volume full-service Marriott environment. This role is highly operational and works closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team to ensure accurate financial reporting, operational accountability, cash flow management, labor oversight, and strong financial controls across the property. This position plays a critical role in supporting hotel performance, financial discipline, and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Support daily hotel accounting and financial operations
- Partner closely with the General Manager and department leaders
- Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
- Monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
- Review revenue reporting, ledger activity, and audit accuracy
- Assist with labor reporting, payroll review, and operational cost analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring
- Ensure proper controls and compliance across financial processes
- Review guest billing, city ledger, and revenue postings for accuracy
- Support inventory and expense control initiatives
- Assist with audit preparation and financial documentation
- Help drive operational accountability through reporting and financial analysis
- Provide support and guidance to night audit and accounting functions
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Marriott standards, and financial procedures
Requirements
- Hospitality accounting experience strongly preferred
- Full-service hotel experience preferred
- Strong financial analysis and organizational skills
- Experience with hotel accounting systems, PMS, and POS systems
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving ability
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Ability to partner effectively with operations leadership
