About the Role
Lead positioning and messaging for the MongoDB Application Modernization Platform to drive adoption. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals, requiring a deep understanding of modernization strategies and the ability to translate technical depth into compelling messaging for various personas.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner for high-impact initiatives aligning with MongoDB’s long-term business goals in collaboration with Marketing, Developer Relations, Product Management, Engineering, Partners, and Sales.
- Enable teams with data-driven positioning, messaging, and persona development.
- Advise teams on the best tactics to influence diverse audiences.
- Create compelling technical content educating audiences on the Application Modernization Platform, its integration with LLM’s and Deterministic Intelligence.
- Develop and execute cross-functional launch strategies for new modernization functionality and capabilities to grow adoption and revenue.
Requirements
- Proven experience with 2-5 years in product marketing, product management, developer relations, or solutions engineering, preferably in B2B technology, AI/ML, cloud, and/or enterprise software, with a strong track record of success.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, trusted to develop and execute strategies to meet business objectives.
- Proven ability to bring strong, data-driven judgment to day-to-day work.
- High-bar communication (both verbal and written), capable of influencing the priorities of cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
- Deep understanding of technology fundamentals (enterprise platforms, transformation and modernization, LLM’s and generative AI) and the ability to connect product areas to business impact.
- Genuine empathy for customer challenges and pain points, with the ability to understand common use cases and implementation specifics.
- Strong bias for action and ability to decompose problems into effective solutions and drive execution cross-functionally.
- Low ego-to-talent ratio and ability to effectively represent the company as a subject matter expert in executive-level customer calls, analyst briefings, and public appearances.
- Understanding of modernization and transformation functions, lift-and-shift versus re-architecture tradeoffs, and patterns for successful production migrations.
- Product marketing instincts to translate technical depth into crisp, differentiated messaging for distinct user and buyer personas.
- Hands-on experience building or shipping modernization tooling, migration frameworks, or cloud-native applications is an advantage.
- Prior experience in product marketing, particularly in enterprise platform contexts, is encouraged.
- Voracious consumer of enterprise technology trends, paying close attention to shifting patterns in application architecture, cloud adoption, and developer tooling, including the evolving role of AI in accelerating modernization workflows.
- Confident in communicating with technical practitioners and non-technical decision makers in one-to-few and one-to-many engagements for internal and external audiences.
