About the Role
The Communication Manager shapes and drives strategic communications through storytelling, earned media, and influencer relations. This role is responsible for creating and managing communications strategies for Red Bull projects, events, and athletes, using a full mix of communications and media tools.
Responsibilities
- Plan and activate communications around Red Bull events, projects, and athletes, ensuring all media and communication activity stays on brand.
- Generate positive, organic conversation around Red Bull through earned media, influencer amplification, and strong editorial relationships.
- Align with key stakeholders in the Red Bull Media Network (Content, Programming & Creator Marketing) to develop and execute individual 360 media plans for our programs and events across third-party media and owned channels.
- Manage crisis communications workflows for assigned projects.
- Lead communications planning and delivery for events, projects, and properties across sport, culture, gaming, and entertainment, ensuring all activity is relevant, integrated, and on brand.
- Turn marketing initiatives into compelling media products by identifying content and story opportunities in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Oversee communications delivery across the full project lifecycle, including messaging, press materials, agency briefs, media operations, and on-site event communications.
- Amplify Red Bull events, sports partnerships, and athletes through integrated storytelling and 360 communications plans.
- Identify the media, voices, and platforms that matter most to our projects, building long-term relationships that drive meaningful coverage and conversation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key Australian news, culture and lifestyle media.
- Spot and activate earned media opportunities across podcasts, creators, social-first platforms, niche communities, and non-traditional outlets.
- Deliver strong PR execution, including media releases, story pitching, key messages, media briefings, and training.
- Manage agencies, freelancers, and media partners, with ongoing performance review.
- Oversee budgets and reporting with project managers to maximise impact across key projects.
- Build strong relationships with the wider Marketing team, athletes, partners, and influencers.
- Contribute creative and critical thinking during annual business planning and project development.
- Ensure brand integrity and credibility are maintained across all communications activity.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Communications, PR in Marketing or Media-led companies
- Experience in the culture, gaming, entertainment, and/or sports industries preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian media landscape, with an established network of media contacts.
- Proven experience managing budgets across multiple projects
- Highly organised, with strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Qualified to work in Australia.
