About the Role
As a 3k Lead Teacher at Happy Maryann, you will play a vital role in shaping the early development and education of our youngest learners. You will create a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment in which children can grow and thrive, while fostering their cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Responsibilities
- Follow all DOHMH requirements including fingerprints, background check, and required training.
- Maintain student headcounts continuously during transitions.
- Ensure children leave only with authorized adults during dismissal.
- Closely supervise indoor and outdoor play areas to prevent injuries.
- Guide children through proper handwashing after bathroom visits.
- Help children share toys and resolve minor conflicts gently.
- Assist with toileting, including reminders, accidents, and diapering if needed.
- Lead safe transitions of children from the main classroom to the after-school room.
- Soothe children experiencing late-day fatigue or separation anxiety.
- Set up and assist with simple, age-appropriate art projects.
- Engage with children at their eye level during free play.
- Serve snacks safely while monitoring for child allergies.
- Sanitize toys, wipe tables, and organize the room daily.
- Document any minor injuries, scratches, or behavioral issues.
- Provide brief, positive daily updates to parents at pickup.
