About the Role

The line planner will lead and assure compliance with all planned maintenance requirements regulated by the maintenance programs. This role is responsible for recovery, support, and coordination of deferred and routine maintenance, including station capability, workforce, facility, materials, and tooling availability to accomplish planned events, while providing oversight and direction to aircraft routing and operations for planned maintenance opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and ensure the timely compliance of all planned maintenance requirements regulated by the maintenance programs.
  • Manage deferred and routine maintenance, including station capabilities, workforce, facility, materials, and tooling availability to accomplish planned events.
  • Provide recommendations and direction to aircraft routing and operations for planned maintenance opportunities.
  • Collaborate in the coordination and planning for out-of-service aircraft and line hold work package plans.
  • Provide workload prioritization guidance to maintenance.
  • Access and use maintenance manuals and IPCs.
  • Review databases of line and base maintenance capabilities and workforce availability to accurately plan and schedule work assignments.
  • Ensure company goals for safety, security, and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting any non-compliance observations.
  • Support and uphold United’s metric goals and understand how they relate to duties and responsibilities.
  • Monitor inconsistencies and adjust to improve overall fleet efficiencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or education equivalent.
  • 3 years in the aircraft maintenance industry.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work any shift in a 24 hour/7 day a week operation including weekends, nights and holidays.
  • Up to 10% travel.
  • Strong background and knowledge of aircraft and engine maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of how to read and interpret Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs and Engineering documents.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask and be detail oriented.
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to constant change.
  • Ability to successfully work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without FAA Airframe and Power Plant License sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
