About the Role

Nearmap is seeking an Operations Technician to join the Geospatial Content Operations team, supporting Australia's aerial capture program. This role involves coordinating technical operations and logistics, acting as a liaison between field operators, logistics partners, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor JIRA dashboards to track survey data and media flow.
  • Maintain operator fleet stock, ensuring aircraft are equipped before departure.
  • Manage logistics with courier partners and support flight planning.
  • Act as the first point of contact for operator issues.
  • Receive equipment shipments and support camera dispatch for repairs.
  • Handle after-hours responses for operational issues.
  • Download survey data and manage the processing queue.
  • Provide second-level QA support, reconciling coverage and identifying anomalies.
  • Feed observations back to the Flight Operations team.

Requirements

  • Comfortable with computers beyond a surface level; Windows is required, Linux is a bonus.
  • Clear communication across different audiences.
  • Autonomous and proactive in identifying next steps.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 25kg.
  • Curious about systems and how they work.
  • Experience handling physical assets, inventory, or equipment management.
  • Experience with ticketing or workflow tools such as Jira.
  • Exposure to Linux or command line environments is a plus but not essential.
  • A current driver's licence is desirable for occasional airport and storage runs.
  • A background in tech, GIS, or operations is desirable.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work across multiple systems and learn new tools quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce reports and progress updates.
  • Comfortable adopting AI tools to improve productivity and workflow efficiency.
