About the Role
Cox Automotive's Enterprise Inventory Services (EIS) team builds and operates the Common Vehicle Inventory (CVI) platform, which powers vehicle inventory across Cox Automotive's retail products. We are hiring a Product Manager II to own discovery and delivery of inventory capabilities within a defined product area. This is a growth role where you will develop toward independent ownership of broader product areas over time. The ideal candidate is execution-oriented, curious, and coachable, with a strong desire to learn and take initiative.
Responsibilities
- Own product discovery for a defined product space, including customer interviews, data analysis, and synthesizing findings into clear problem statements.
- Write product specifications in the team's Spec-Driven Development (SDD) format, defining features with clear acceptance criteria.
- Manage and maintain assigned work in Rally, ensuring current status and dispositioning stale items.
- Build relationships with operations teams, support staff, leaders, dealers, and integration partners to understand inventory workflows.
- Collaborate daily with engineering, architecture, UX, business leadership, and solution delivery partners.
- Drive the rollout for delivered capabilities, partnering with Product Readiness to create plans, training materials, and communications.
- Track adoption metrics against success criteria for the product area.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years' experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master's degree and 2 years; Ph.D. and 1 year; 8 years experience).
- 2+ years of experience in software product management or product ownership.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, or product specs.
- Experience working with engineering teams on software delivery.
- Critical thinking skills to solve problems and ask the right questions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to integrate them into daily workflows.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with team members and customers.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test (marijuana testing may not be administered for this position, but it is a drug-free workplace).
