About the Role
The Labor Relations Manager designs, plans, and implements employee relations programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with Gaming policies and union contracts. This role provides expertise, consultation, guidance, and coaching to managers and HRBPs to address employee behavior and performance concerns, while fostering positive work relationships and retention.
Responsibilities
- Designs, plans, and implements employee relations programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all Gaming policies and union contracts.
- Provides expertise, consultation, guidance, and coaching to managers, team members, and HRBPs.
- Addresses team member behavior and performance concerns.
- Works closely with department managers, team members, and the union to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase retention.
- Directs and leads all ER functions, including planning, development, implementation, and administration of ER programs and policies.
- Investigates and resolves complex employee relations issues.
- Supports HR Business Partners and guides department management.
- Consults and advises managers on confidential and complex human resources and employee relations issues.
- Serves as a liaison for complex questions regarding policies and procedures.
- Advises and trains HRBPs, managers, and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies.
- Represents the organization in meetings and negotiations with team members and labor organizations.
- Handles routine employee grievances.
- Coaches leadership in change management and leadership strategies.
- Recommends procedural changes to improve HR service effectiveness and efficiency.
- Directs, mentors, and coaches assigned staff.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have the ability to obtain the appropriate license.
- Positive, professional, and forthright manner of communication.
- Strong listening skills.
- Works as a team in unison with all members of the Human Resources Department team.
- Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of Company’s internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Thorough understanding of negotiation and dispute resolution techniques.
- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial or confrontational situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

- $90,000 - $125,000
