About the Role
Healthgrades is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and guide engineering teams in scaling and supporting efforts to help Americans find care. This role requires a hands-on leader and coach who can foster individual and team growth while remaining involved in application development. The focus is on building a culture of diversity, inclusion, bias to action, and openness to develop Health-related products.
Responsibilities
- Ensure incremental value delivery and high-quality standards for teams.
- Support teams' strategic work in collaboration with Product and Design.
- Attract, onboard, and retain diverse top talent.
- Develop people and teams through coaching, mentoring, and management support.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, goal setting, and feedback conversations with engineers.
- Improve inclusion and belonging on your team and within the organization.
- Maintain high levels of transparency, efficiency, and collaboration in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Advocate and promote leadership at all levels within the engineering organization.
- Drive broader organizational development and cross-cutting efforts with other engineering management.
- Help grow team expertise in performance, reliability, scalability, maintainable architecture, and experimentation.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and SEO.
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of experience building and leading software development teams.
- Experience delivering working software with teams.
- Experience includes hiring and direct reporting relationships with engineers.
- Strong ability to develop systems that meet architectural objectives including reusable, scalable code.
- Experience working with distributed teams.
- Experience integrating AI/LLM-based tools into engineering workflows and developer productivity.
- Knowledgeable about modern software engineering practices and their application in different teams.
- Belief in agile and lean values with practical experience delivering value.
- Servant leader, effective communicator, and strong collaborator.
- Emphasis on continuous learning and building strong, productive teams.
