About the Role

We are seeking a Director, Product Analytics and Insights to establish and lead our product analytics function. This role will shape product investment decisions by defining the KPI framework, analytics strategy, and self-service capabilities. Leveraging Pendo, you will uncover user behavior, identify friction points, and deliver actionable insights to influence roadmap priorities and product outcomes. This is a highly visible role with regular exposure to executive leadership, offering a unique opportunity to reimagine product analytics through AI.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the product analytics function, establishing strategy, KPI framework, instrumentation standards, and self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Partner with Product leadership to influence roadmap and investment priorities by translating user behavior, adoption trends, workflow analytics, and customer feedback into actionable recommendations.
  • Own and optimize the product analytics ecosystem, leveraging Pendo and other tools to design instrumentation, manage product telemetry, and deliver scalable insights.
  • Develop self-service dashboards and reporting solutions to empower Product Managers and leaders.
  • Embed measurement into the product development lifecycle, defining analytics and telemetry requirements for new features and releases.
  • Analyze product performance and identify growth opportunities, proactively surfacing adoption challenges, user friction points, and emerging trends.
  • Lead cross-functional analytics initiatives, partnering with Engineering, Data, Go-to-Market, and Executive leaders to connect product outcomes to business results and advance AI-powered analytics capabilities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product analytics (or 3+ years in product/product analytics and 5+ years in business intelligence or data science roles), with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Track record building high-performing product analytics teams with demonstrable impact on company strategy.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Pendo, including designing tagging strategies, building guides, configuring funnels, and architecting Pendo at scale.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and BigQuery.
  • Proficiency in Tableau for visualization and storytelling.
  • Familiarity with data prep tools like Alteryx is a plus.
  • Ability to write instrumentation specs, discuss event models and schemas, and partner with data platform teams.
  • Experience building self-serve analytics capabilities for product teams.
  • A genuine orientation toward product strategy.
  • B2B SaaS experience, ideally in a complex, multi-product environment.
  • Experience building AI-powered analytics workflows, agents, or projects that moved past experimentation into real use and impact.
  • Experience building a product analytics function from scratch.
  • Comfort working alongside commercial and engineering analytics teams and translating product metrics.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or other vertical software is a plus.
